English & Meditation Program

July 20-28 2009

During this week we will explore a variety of meditation and relaxation techniques through Nature, Art and English. The focus in the English classes will be on conversation and pronunciation. Some of the things we will explore are:

Active Listening & Conscious Walking

When one is fully present in the moment, one can hear much more than usual. Walking consciously is a joyful and non-stressful way of walking while merging with the surroundings.

Mandala Painting

Mandala painting is a traditional form of sacred geometric symbolism evolving from the center out. You can make your own life story or let it evolve as real artists do.

Walking the Grant Labyrinth

The community now has a labyrinth open to the public. It can be used as a walking meditation. You may walk into the center with a question in mind, and walk out with the answer. It works!

Expressive Arts

Sue Mistretta is the owner of Hands and Soul Healing centre. She works with all kinds of artistic mediums to bring the artist out in you while consciously communicating with the art.

Native Medicine Wheel Ritual

This is a 4-directions ritual that is performed by the Native North American peoples. This is an option if anyone is around who may perform this.

Hatha Yoga

This gentle Yoga is offered 3 times per week to keep people limber and healthy. It is a sacred time in a beautiful big dome room. No experience necessary. Loose clothing is advised.
